HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - U.S. forces have begun hitting the Islamic Militant group ISIS with air strikes. Due to these actions, some lawmakers want the House Armed Services Committee to convene this week. Tulsi Gabbard sits on the committee and joins this Labor Day edition of Sunrise to give us her insights on the situation.
Gabbard is an Iraqi War veteran and a congresswoman for Hawaii's second Congressional district. She said she believes the committee will not be called back in for an early meeting. She also hopes the U.S. will return to its focus on its mission following 9/11, taking action against those who have declared war and threats on America.
