HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Kauai soul surfer Bethany Hamilton is getting ready for an "amazing" trip around the world.
The 24-year-old pro surfer and her new husband, Adam Dirks, will be battling ten other teams in the 25th season of the Emmy-winning reality competition series, "The Amazing Race."
The contestants will make their way through eight countries, traveling more than 26,000 miles through grueling mental and physical challenges.
The real advantage for all the teams is being able to keep their momentum going under stressful situations and continue to work together, which can be extra challenging for couples who bring baggage from their relationships to the show.
"I think sometimes I can be a bit impatient so just being patient with myself and Adam as we're doing different things," Hamilton said. "Sometimes things don't go your way and you have to work around, I don't know, a bad taxi driver or whatever and you just have to be patient and do your best."
If Hamilton and her husband win, the grand prize is a million dollars.
The show premieres on Friday, September 26th on KGMB.
