The large waves generated by Hurricane Marie in the Pacific Ocean have surfers flocking to Southern California beaches.
Among the crowd in Malibu this week was surf legend Laird Hamilton, who rode one of the largest waves of the day on Tuesday and ended with a narrow route between the legs of a pier.
A video posted on YouTube calls the ride 'epic' and says Hamilton rode at least 400 yards before shooting the pier at the end. It's been viewed hundreds of thousands of times in just two days.
