Two men died on Saturday after being pulled from the ocean about 500 yards offshore near the Hunakai St. beach access in Kahala.
According to emergency crews, the men, ages 32 and 31, were snorkeling when they got into trouble in the ocean. They were both wearing fins when they were found around 5 p.m. Saturday.
A third man was able to make it to shore safely with the help of a surfer.
Ocean safety and HFD initiated CPR on both patients who were then transported to hospital in critical condition. Both men later died.
Officials say the two men were visitors to the island.
Honolulu police say no signs of foul play were involved. Officials have classified this case as an unattended death.
King tides are expected to begin Thursday.
