HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Authorities charged a man on Saturday for allegedly injuring a HPD lieutenant in Pearl City earlier this month.
Detectives say 43-year-old Derek Torres turned himself in early Saturday morning.
According to police, he was in a stolen car with another man outside a Pearl City 7-Eleven on August 12.
When the lieutenant confronted them, the suspects allegedly reversed, hitting the officer and causing his gun to go off.
Torres has been charged with terroristic threatening, attempted assault and assault of a law enforcement officer.
He's being held on $200,000 bail.
