Jimmy Buffet's restaurant in Waikiki will stay open after all, but it will be under new management.
A new ownership group called Handcrafted Restaurants - operators of Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman - is taking over the pool-side eatery.
The "Margaritaville" crooner opened the restaurant five years ago inside the Holiday Inn Waikiki Beachcomber Resort.
Instead of closing for good as originally announced, it will only be closed the first week of September for a makeover of the menu and the restaurant.
