East Toledo man's home broken into twice despite security system

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

An east Toledo man is looking for answers after his home was the target of thieves - not once, but twice in the last five weeks.

The first burglary happened in July. Someone kicked in the back door at a home on Milton Street, took a laptop, tablet and cash and then ran off.

The man who lives in the home says he then installed a security system, hoping it would prevent something like that from happening again. But the system didn't stop someone from kicking in the door again on Aug. 13 and taking off with his new laptop.

"It's been two months and I've been broken into twice, and other people have been broken into," Michael Kuhnle said. "It seems like it's the same people and they're not caught and it just gets easier and easier for them."

Kuhnle says he wants to see more police officers cruise the neighborhood and is asking his neighbors to look out for each other.

If you have any information that can help police find those responsible for the burglaries, call Crime Stopper at 419-255-1111.
