DNLR reopens three state parks: Wailoa River, Polihale, Napali Coast
The Department of Land and Natural Resources reopened three state parks on Sunday; one on Hawaii island and two on Kauai.
Wailoa River State Park in Hilo reopened on the Big Island.Over on the Garden Isle, Polihale State Park and the Napali Coast State Park were reopened, although the Kalalau trail is open for day use only.
There is no camping on the popular north Kauai trail until further notice. The DNLR had closed the state parks as a precaution while Hawaii was under severe weather warnings.
