Caldwell tells non emergency personnel to stay home

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell announced that the city will not pickup trash on Friday because of Iselle. Caldwell during a Thursday afternoon news conference also told city employees who are not emergency personnel to stay home from work.

The city will provide one-way express bus service to downtown Honolulu and Waikiki Friday morning until 7:30 a.m. The goal is to provide tourism workers transportation before hazardous conditions develop on Oahu. All other bus and Handi-van service is canceled.

The routes will run between 4:30 am and 7:30 am.

Specific times will be posted on TheBus website at www.thebus.org.

All regularly scheduled bus service is canceled on Friday.
