Are you prepared in case of a hurricane?

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Stores all across the state were filled with long lines as dozens of shoppers waited at the registers. Everyone was buying cases of water, batteries, lanterns and toilet paper as they prepare as Hurricane Iselle and Tropical storm Julio make their way toward the islands.

As crowds rushed to get their emergency kits together, some families avoided the rush by already having not only their kits ready, but also taking the extra steps of securing their homes as well.

So what else can we do to protect ourselves from Mother Nature? Peter Hirai, the Deputy Director of the Department of Emergency Management came on Sunrise to let you know what you can do to help keep you and your family ready in case of an emergency.
