Rabbi Braun then introduced Michael Brienza who elaborated on his vast experience of working closely with the Jewish community as a member of Community Board 1, especially just nominated to the Executive Board gives Mr. Brienza greater leverage to deal with issues such as appropriate housing and better transportation, greater police and sanitation services. He asked for the opportunity to be elected as a State Committee member as he is eager to be more effective in delivering vital services such as Section 8 rent subsidy, affordable housing and on & on. In closing, Rabbi Shlomo Braun concluded the meeting by encouraging everyone present to make sure that they register all their relatives and friends to vote; to encourage everyone in the community to serve on jury duty and be actively involved in the political process as it is crucial to properly address the challenges we face in the areas of education; employment, housing etc.
