Missing Laumaka inmate back in custody

Work furlough inmate Christopher Robles is back in custody Tuesday after turning himself in at OCCC. Officials said the 40-year-old inmate turned himself in at about 7: 00 a.m. and will be booked on an escape charge.

Honolulu police and sheriff's deputies are searching for inmate Christopher Robles who failed to return to the Laumaka Work Furlough Center after work Saturday. Officials say his scheduled return time was 4 p.m.

Robles was serving time for first-degree burglary. Department of Public Safety officials say escape will now be added to his sentence.

Robles, 40,  is described as 5-feet-2-inches tall and weighs 125 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

HPD is asking the public to call 911 if they see Robles.
