The on-again, off-again tropical cyclone known as Tropical Depression Genevieve is continuing to move westward well to the south of the islands, and could strengthen yet again into a tropical storm Tuesday.

Genevieve had maximum sustained winds of 35 miles per hour with higher gusts.

At 11 p.m. Sunday, Genevieve was located about 930 miles southwest of Honolulu and was moving to the west at 16 miles per hour, away from the islands.

The Central Pacific Hurricane Center said little change in strength is expected overnight, followed by gradual strengthening Monday and Tuesday as it continues heading farther away from the state.
