TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The Toledo couple accused of killing Michigan man Brian Martin was indicted by a Grand Jury on Monday on four charges each.

Desirae and Robert Strauss were indicted in Lucas County Common Pleas Court on charges of aggravated murder, murder, tampering with evidence and grand theft of a motor vehicle.

The Strausses are accused of killing Martin, who has been missing since June 22, and then fleeing to Indiana, where they were found in Martin's vehicle. Although Martin's body has not been found, Toledo Police executed a search warrant on the Strausses' home, which turned up evidence leading police to charge the couple in Martin's death.

"Almost all cases like this, we usually have a body," said TPD Sgt. Joe Heffernan. "I am confident we'll find Mr. Martin's body eventually, but we wanted to go ahead and proceed with the charges. We talked to the prosecutor's office, and they agreed with us, given the evidence that we have, that he is in fact deceased."

Police are still asking that anyone living between Toledo and Anderson, Indiana check their property for signs of Martin's body.
