Options on fares for the modern streetcar

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - One day left until the modern streetcar starts carrying passengers in the downtown area.

There are a couple of options when it comes to paying for a ride on the streetcar, one of which is paying directly at the streetcar stop.

Options for payment include - a one day Sun Go ticket for $4, this is for those who have exact change or are paying with a credit card. The ticket is good for 24 hours, once it is validated inside the streetcar.

Another option will be a 30 day ticket, which will run riders $42; while a one way full fare is $1.50 and a one way economy is $0.50.

In order to ride the streetcar one of the following is needed - a Sun Go card, Sun Go ID and card; a one day Sun Go ticket, a 30 day Sun Go ticket or a Sun Go transfer.  Riders will not be able to pay cash or any type of fare while on the streetcar.

Also riders can purchase or reload a Sun Go card at any Sun Tran Transit Center, Fry's Store or online.  While on the streetcar riders can tap their ticket or card at one of the four card readers on the streetcar to activate it.
