HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Board of Water Supply and Friends of Halawa Xeriscape Garden are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Halawa Xeriscape Garden coming up Saturday, August 2nd.
The event will feature how you can have a beautiful garden with plants that don't require as much water, which can ultimately save money and resources.
Studies have shown that families who practice xeriscaping can reduce their outdoor water consumption anywhere from 30 to 80 percent, and the Board of Water Supply puts on this family-friendly event every year as a way to show people how to save water outdoors by incorporating these concepts.
Guests will also be able to enjoy live music by Jerry Santos of Olomana, the Royal Hawaiian Band, and a special unveiling of a Heritage Garden.
Joining Grace Lee on Sunrise is Jill Kuramoto, the Information Officer from the Board of Water Supply, to give us more details.
