Brown Water Advisory issued for Maui, Lanai, Molokai, parts of Oahu

The Department of Health has issued a Brown Water Advisory for north Oahu, from Haleiwa to Kahana Valley. The islands of Maui, Lanai and Molokai remain under the advisory.

The Department of Health has issued a Brown Water Advisory for the islands of Maui, Lanai and Molokai.

Officials say Current Doppler Radar show rain cells over these island but there is a larger rain cell just north of these island heading to Oahu.

The public is advised to stay out of flood waters and storm water runoff due to possible overflowing cesspools, sewer manholes, pesticides, animal fecal matter, dead animals, pathogens, chemicals and associated flood debris. Turbid water runoff have been known to attract sharks due to possible dead animals being washed into the ocean. If coastal waters are brown please stay out.
