MOANALUA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - An early morning motorcycle crash has left a California man in critical condition after officials say he lost control of the motorcycle he was driving and was ejected from his seat in the Moanalua area.
Emergency Medical Services say the accident happened shortly before 2:30 a.m. Saturday on Jarret White Road. Officials say the victim, a man in his 20's with a California address, was reportedly driving west on the Tripler off-ramp when he lost control of his motorcycle and was ejected out of his seat. The man reportedly sustained head injuries after hitting the roadway.
HPD shut down Jarret White Road between the Tripler off-ramp to Mahiole St. shortly after 3 a.m. to conduct a traffic investigation.
EMS took the victim to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
According to HPD, the man was not wearing a helmet and speed appears to be a factor. It is unknown at this time if alcohol was also a contributing factor.
Roads were reopened around 5 a.m.
