5-Star Airline Partners With Washingtonian Magazine for 2nd Year

WASHINGTON, July 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Qatar Airways proudly partnered with Washingtonian Magazine for their annual "AT&T Best Of Washington" event for the 2nd straight year, on July 16th. The annual event features the best of the district's food and beverage selections, voted on by Washingtonian readers.

Qatar Airways Sponsors  Washingtonian Magazine's 2014 'Best Of Washington' for the 2nd consecutive year.

After last year's success, the airline brought back their popular "Qatar Airways Lounge." Following this year's Alice in Wonderland theme, the lounge featured costumed acrobats, musicians, and dancers performing choreographed routines throughout the evening. Guests relaxed in Qatar Airways' "World's Best Business Class" seats, which convert into fully flat beds, and sampled over 1,000 inflight on-demand entertainment options.

Inspired by their 144 global destinations, Qatar Airways' "World Culinary Menu" was designed by celebrity chefs Nobu Matsuhisa, Tom Aikens, Vineet Bhatia, and Ramzi Choueiri, who have a combined 5 Michelin Stars between them. The airline also works with Master of Wine James Cluer to curate a wine selection specifically for high-altitude consumption.

"But just as important are our best-in-class Business Class seats, designer Ferragamo amenity kits, and a large selection of on-demand entertainment options through each customer's personal touchscreen LCD TV. In addition to the Business Class Experience and Lounge, Qatar Airways gave away branded Fitbits® in the VIP area to promote the airline's Fly Healthy, Fly Fit program.

Best Of Washington was held at the National Building Museum. A portion of ticket sales and proceeds from a silent auction were donated to the Washington-area Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
