PacWest names Hawaii Pacific's Michnev Male Athlete of the Year

IRVINE, CALIFORNIA (HawaiiNewsNow) - By: Taylor Preza

The Pacific West Conference has awarded Hawaii Pacific University senior tennis player Petr Michnev the 2013-2014 PacWest Male Athlete of the Year. 

Michnev for the second-consecutive season, was honored as the PacWest Player of the Year, the PacWest Championship MVP, a capital One Academic All-American and the PacWest Men's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year. 

The ITA West Region Senior Player of the Year ranked second in the nation with a record of 15-2 in singles and 21-2 in doubles.

Michnev was 3-1 against No.1 nationally-ranked opponents and led the Sea Warriors with a finish of second-place at the NCAA Championship.

Michnev was previously honored as the PacWest Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
