HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A high surf advisory is in effect for south facing shores of all islands.
A low, which was east of New Zealand last week, generated a large swell that will continue to affect the south facing shores of the main Hawaiian island chain today.
The High Surf Advisory is now in effect until 6 p.m. Wednesday evening.
Forecasters expect surf to reach 5 to 8 feet along south facing shores.
Impacts: Expect strong breaking waves, Shore break, and strong Longshore and Rip currents making swimming difficult and dangerous.
