A man sent to prison in a case of Cuyahoga County corruption will get a new sentence.

A court has granted the appeal of Mark Lime, the former head of the Criminal Division of the Cuyahoga County Clerk of Courts.

In 2013, Lime pleaded guilty to theft in office, tampering with records and unauthorized use of a computer. Investigators said he pocketed cash given to the clerk's office by bondsmen, at least $8,700 dollars over several years.

Judge Kathleen Sutula gave Lime five years in prison and ordered him to pay back $8,765.

But an appeals court has ruled the judge did not clearly outline legal findings for giving Lime that amount of prison time, consecutive sentences on some of the charges.

So, the appeals court has sent the case back to the judge for re-sentencing.

No date for that has been set yet.
