Mix video and music to create shareable content from your phone.

New York, NY (PRWEB) July 15, 2014

Sympler, the video mixing app that allows users to remix sound with video, today launched for iOS to simplify the video creation process. Sympler lowers the barrier-to-entry for video editing. Users can now make catchy videos from their phone by simply tapping along to a beat.

Sympler promotes play-driven creativity by turning the video making process into a musical game. Symplers can be made in five easy steps:

  • Shoot Content or Remix: Select up to six clips from phone, or remix another users finished video
  • Choose a Beat: Select a backing track from phone or library to mix with clips & images
  • Make a mix: Tap the clips to the beat like a drum machine. This records the mix in the background
  • Review the Video: Add a caption and decide if other users can remix it
  • Share the Video: Publish mix to the Sympler feed and share socially on Tumblr, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube or email

As a filmmaker, I know how complex and daunting the video editing process can be, said Alexander Kane, Co-founder of Sympler. By encouraging you to just jump in and start playing, Sympler taps your natural instinct - no need for any editing skills.

Users can challenge one another with the Remix function. This injects an element of competition by encouraging people to remix videos and create new content. The remix functionality is optional when uploading content, but fosters collective creativity.

Nothing kills creativity like a blank canvas, said Ben Jenkins, Co-founder. Weve studied how people create and have seen that the best videos are often riffs on existing ideas. From GIFs and memes to video responses on YouTube, peoples creativity is improved when they can remix. Everything is now editable. So Sympler fuels the urge to hack, co-create and remix using video as the medium."
