JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson police got a call Saturday night of a business burglary at the Target on I-55 in north Jackson.   Once they arrived, they arrested 24-year-old Alex Risley, who had been inside since before the store closed.

It's at that point Risley told them what he was doing there.

"He actually told the officers that he was trying to make a video, breaking into a business without getting caught, but evidently he was caught in the process of it," said Jackson Police Officer Colendula Green.

He then told officers he was waiting on his friend to pick him up. That friend was 19-year-old William McClain of Brandon.

"It's been coded as a business burglary and also, William McClain was charged with accessory after the fact," said Green.

So what about the video itself? Was it worth the crime?

"He wasn't able to make a video due to the fact that his phone battery was low. So I don't even think he got a video of [breaking into the store]," said Green.

Risley's excuse of just shooting a video is something authorities aren't buying.

"Some of the items collected actually belonged to Target, the business, so I am quite sure they will be charged with [theft of] these items," added Green.

Risley has been in trouble before. He was convicted of two prior felonies, retail theft in Florida back in 2009.

"Evidently for them, it's not a good business to be in, if they're getting caught," said Green.
