Big Island police locate missing California teen

KONA, HAWAII (HawaiiNewsNow) - {Update}

Big Island police located Jasmine Keilani on Saturday around 10:55 p.m. in the Kailua-Kona area. Officials say she returned safely to her family with no injuries.


Big Island police have reclassified their search for the missing 16-year-old California girl as a runaway case.

Jasmine Keilani of San Diego was vacationing with family in Kona. She was last seen Tuesday morning (July 8) on Alii Drive in Kailua-Kona.

She is described as 5-foot-5, 125 pounds with brown eyes and brown shoulder-length hair with blond tips. She was last seen wearing a tie-dyed top with faded denim shorts.

Police ask anyone with information on her whereabouts to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.
