Local Connection: Salvation Army (Part 1)

Local Connection: Salvation Army

Hi. I’m Barbara Wallace. When I recently started working for The Salvation Army I had no idea the kinds of services the Army provides to our communities.

I knew about the Thrift Stores and Red Kettles at Christmas but there's so much more to know in case you, a friend, or family member needs our help. Last year, The Salvation Army reached 125-thousand people in Hawaii; out of every ten residents in the state, providing a Pathway of Hope to those most in need, with:

· food

· clothes

· housing and services for seniors

· pre-school

· music lessons

· summer camp for at-risk children and youth

· homes for foster kids and at-risk teens.

· treatment for drug and alcohol addictions

· family recreation and fitness at the state of the art Kroc Center in Kapolei

· and of course, our emergency disaster services

If any of this rings a bell for you, and you need help please call now!

We are here to help without discrimination. If you'd like to help us, help our neighbors, you don't have to wait for the Christmas Kettles because need knows no season. Your monetary gift helps your island 'ohana every day of the year!
