MULESHOE, TX (KCBD) - A Guatemalan has man pleaded guilty to locking three undocumented immigrants in a Muleshoe storm cellar.

30-year-old Ricardo Suar-Gonzales entered the plea in a Lubbock federal court on Tuesday.

Muleshoe police discovered the immigrants at a home in the 200 Block of West Avenue E back in April, following an anonymous phone call. Suar-Gonzales says he locked three people in the cellar, with food and water, because he did not receive full payment of their smuggling fee. He also admits to being in the U.S. illegally.

47-year-old Lidia Gomez-Yucute is also charged in this case. But, a judge granted a continuance so her attorney can have an interpreter speak with Gomez-Yucute in her native language of K'iche'.
