The Lemont Hornets Youth Football and Cheer Association have partnered with Sports Brain to implement comprehensive baseline concussion testing for its athletes. As part of the program, Sports Brain will provide testing for the athletes in the Lemont Hornets Youth Football and Cheer Association.

Sports Brain will also make a variety of other programming and training available for the Lemont Hornets which includes:

  •     Baseline concussion testing utilizing current technologies in neurocognitive, vision tracking, balance testing and virtual reality
  •     Concussion education seminars for parents, coaches and athletes
  •     Mental performance training utilizing cutting-edge technologies
  •     Cognitive training and development programs
  •     Mental toughness training

Sports Brain is a national organization based in suburban Chicago concentrating on the implementation of comprehensive baseline concussion testing and concussion management programs for youth, high school, college, and professional sports organizations.

We commend the Lemont Hornets for taking a strong, proactive stance in the battle against concussions, said Roy Kessel, Founder of Sports Brain. Many organizations are reluctant to push for baseline concussion testing of their athletes. We are pleased to see the Lemont Hornets organization encouraging every athlete in their football and cheer programs to have comprehensive baseline concussion testing completed before they start participating in practices.

Our mission is to encourage participation in a safe and supportive environment, said Jason Nash, President of the Lemont Hornets Youth Football and Cheer Association. We are excited to partner with Sports Brain to ensure that our athletes receive comprehensive baseline testing because we recognize the importance of those tests in the recovery from a concussion. We know that Sports Brain continues to take a leadership role in the fight against concussions and will provide us with tremendous support for this important battle.

It is important for us to continue to help educate parents, coaches and athletes about the dangers of concussions, said Roy Kessel. It is always gratifying to see innovative youth organizations taking a leadership role in incorporating new technologies and solutions to educate their coaches, parents, and athletes which hopefully leaders to better return-to-play and return-to-learn decisions.
