(RNN) - In one of the odder collaborations we’ve seen, Andre 3000 signed on to co-produce Aretha Franklin’s upcoming album, set to release in September.

We know very little about the album, except for a few minor details Franklin released in a recent interview with Billboard.

According to Franklin, the album will be one of covers – not just any cover, but rather a cover of divas (we wouldn’t expect anything less from the Queen of Soul).

So far, she has recorded songs from Adele’s Rolling in the Deep to Tina Turner’s What’s Love Got to Do With It.

But don’t expect a re-recorded version of the original, she made it very clear she’s putting her own soulful twist on each song.

"(The originals) are classic versions and we're certainly aware of that, and we're going to do them justice," promises Franklin. "People are different, you know? What they did is not what I'm going to do, and what I'm going to do is not what they did. That's just what makes it different. You won't be disappointed; we're going to give you exactly what you're expecting and what you're not expecting."

And we have to hand it to the 72-year-old legend, she’s suffered a few health bumps in recent years but they don’t seem to be slowing her down one bit. She’s currently looking into working on a biopic with Lifetime and is on tour through November.

Speaking of music legends...

We could soon see the release of a second Duets album by Barbra Streisand. If you recall, she also released an album titled Duets in 2002 which included all of her duets recorded between 1963 and 2002.

The second Duets album has been a work in progress since 2012, according to Billboard. And the only two people who haven’t remained incredibly tight-lipped about it are co-producers Walter Afanasieff and Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds.

Afanasieff reportedly teased the album on his website earlier this year, saying it would feature musicians such as Lionel Richie, Blake Shelton, Stevie Wonder, Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Bette Midler, Beyonce, John Mayer and Lady Gaga. However, his official website currently appears to be down.

As mysterious as the whole project has remained for two years, Babyface finally announced last week that the album is a go.

"It took a long time to get it done, but we're finally, I don't want to say done-done, but we're right there," Babyface said. "It's a beautiful, beautiful record. She's singing amazingly well, and it's been a fun project to do."

So whether Streisand sings with Lady Gaga or not, we have no doubt the new Duets will be an album worth checking out. We can't wait to hear some more details.

No use in waiting, stream Sia’s '1000 Forms of Fear'

Thanks to iTunes First Play, fans can stream the entire new Sia album, 1000 Forms of Fear, a week ahead of its release.

The album includes her hit song Chandelier, as well as singles Eye of the Needle and Big Girls Cry.

1000 Forms of Fear drops July 8.

Colbie's Carpe Diem

If you’re going to write a song called Live It Up, it’s almost a requirement you YOLO the heck out of the video.

Colbie Caillat took the dive - literally - in her lyric video for the track off her Gypsy Heart Side A EP, jumping out of a perfectly good airplane.

We’ll just sit comfortably in our chairs - on solid ground - and enjoy the view.

And speaking of videos ...

The Voice winner Cassadee Pope brings the live concert experience to her new video, I Wish I Could Break Your Heart.

The video was shot during a show in Columbus, OH, in March.

Pope is crisscrossing the country with Tim McGraw and Kip Moore this summer on the Sundown Heaven Town tour.
