HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu fire crews ended their search for a missing kayaker in waters off Maili Beach Park Saturday after the man was able to paddle to shore.
The man, reportedly in his 50's, went out on the ocean at around 6 p.m. Saturday.
According to officials, a call went in at 8:42 p.m. when the man had not been seen for more than an hour.
Crews searched in the water and by air, using both night vision and thermal imaging.
A helicopter was also on scene, and the Coast Guard was notified.
Fire officials say the man did not sustain any physical injuries, however, EMS did take him to the hospital after officials say the man showed signs of "erratic" behavior.
