LIHUE, KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) - By: Taylor Preza
Kauai crews are working to fix a 10-foot wide depression that appeared in early June on Pikake Street in Lihue near the Awapuhi Road junction.
According to Roads Division Chief, Ed Renaud, the cause of the lane-wide dip is still under investigation. He says, "As a safety precaution, we will be barricading the area and closing off this portion of the roadway while we investigate the cause and work to repair the roadway."
Motorists are advised to drive with caution through the area and to follow all construction and traffic control devices.
The repair work is scheduled to be completed by Tuesday, July 1, weather permitting, at which time the roadway will be reopened.
