HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Hyatt Regency is hosting their Good Taste Culinary Competition Series, where up and coming talent, compete to be top chef. We've decided to have a mini cook-off before the series starts. Joining us on Sunrise are Chef de Cuisine Jon Matsubara of Japengo Waikiki and Chef de Cuisine Gevin Utrillo of Japengo Maui. They have been in the Hawaii News Now kitchen all morning creating their restaurant versions of the Japengo Crème Brulee. Waikiki has the Coconut Crème Brulee; Maui has the Flaming Pina Colada Crème.
The Good Taste Series: Waikiki edition takes place today at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki, Regency Ballroom. Doors open at 5pm, the cook-off at 6pm. All proceeds go to the Kapiolani Culinary Institute. For more information click HERE.
