MANOA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The University of Hawaii at Manoa upper campus has been closed as a result of a water main break on Dole Street on Thursday, according to the university. The break, which was reported shortly after 2 p.m., affected water and air conditioning to buildings on upper campus at student housing, except for Johnson Hall.
Board of Water Supply crews are currently working to repair the break on the 20-inch main near 2645 Dole St. Residents in the areas of lower and upper Manoa, St. Louis Heights, Makiki Heights and lower Makiki may experience low or no water service, BWS said.
Dole Street is closed in both directions between Kanewai Park and the University of Hawaii faculty housing due to road damage.
UH said upper campus may be closed on Friday if water service cannot be restored.
