WAIPAHU, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Eight people are homeless after a house fire on Awamoku Street in Waipahu.

The fire broke out at 3:01 p.m. and the home was fully involved when firefighters arrived on scene eight minutes later. Crews had the flames under control at 3:19 p.m. 

Eight people were home at the time of the fire, all managed to escape from the property unharmed.

The American Red Cross will assist the affected residents.

Total damages are estimated at $450,000.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
