Center for Nutrition Studies and eCornell partner with top faculty to offer new online course.

Ithaca, NY (PRWEB) June 23, 2014

The T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies, a non-profit organization, is pleased to announce the release of a new online course, Nutrition for a Healthy Heart in partnership with eCornell. The Centers new online course features lectures from faculty of Cornell University, the Cleveland Clinic Wellness Institute, and the University of Rochester School of Medicine, as well as bestselling authors and researchers.

Most people know that heart disease is the #1 cause of death in the U.S. and other Western countries. Most people know, more or less, that diet is important in causing heart disease, only a few really know how profound is this effect or which foods might be problematic. It is time to learn about some profound scientific evidence that demonstrates how heart disease can be prevented but, even more dramatically, how people can be treated to reverse their disease, says Dr. T. Colin Campbell, Jacob Gould Schurman Professor Emeritus at Cornell University.

This course is designed to be readily accessible to the public without scientific or medical training, but offers research that will be new for a variety of health professionals. Topics range from contemporary heart disease research and medical practices to stocking a kitchen with heart-healthy foods. Like the Centers best-selling Certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition, the heart course plans to offer continuing education credits for a variety of health disciplines.

eCornells unique approach to online learning combines cutting-edge technologies with Ivy League thought leadership in an engaging, collaborative online learning environment. eCornells online courses are self-paced, instructor-facilitated, and focused on the real-world objectives students will need to achieve to meet their goals.
