Fire destroyed a home on a cemetery in Pearl City Friday afternoon, leaving a man and woman homeless.
The fire was first reported around 12:15 p.m. at Leeward Funeral Home on 4th Street near Lehua Avenue. The cemetery groundskeeper and his wife lived in the building and escaped unharmed.
The two-alarm fire was extinguished an hour later, but the cause remains unknown.
The Hawaii chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting the 57-year-old man and 55-year-old woman with housing.
