CHARLOTTE (WJZY/CBS) - Katlyn Wyllie is a artist who uses glass bottles foraged from garbage bins to make art pieces.

She often goes through dozens of trash cans looking for brightly colored bottles people have thrown out. She then imagines what she wants to create and begins her piece.

When asked about the disgusting things in the garbage, Wyllie said she usually stays away from those because she is not "that desperate for materials."

Wyllie works out of her studio in the woods which consists of a table, a tarp, and the open air. She said creating her art is relaxing, meditative, and fun.

"I definitely have stopped at a bunch of recycle bins, and I end up coming home with all these bottles," Wyllie said. "It takes me hours to clean them, but I love doing it. It's like meditation."
