(Hawaii News Now) - Startup paradise demo day is tomorrow, when local tech startups show what they can do. Energy Excelerator, which is based in Hawaii, has invested over $15 million in energy startups.
Energy Excelerator companies have been successful in raising follow-on funding from large cleantech investors and corporate partners. One has even attracted Khosla Ventures, General Electric, Total, the family office of Karen Pritzker and Bill Gates. Because these startups see Hawaii as a great early market, their investors are starting to direct their attention to Hawaii and our program. The mainland sees Hawaii as a serious place to do energy business and Hawaii has a competitive advantage in this space.
