Gov. Nikki Haley education reform tweet - Hawaii News Now - KGMB and KHNL

OOPS! Nikki Haley tweet goes viral for wrong reason

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

It's a situation where 140 characters simply wasn't enough.

Just hours after signing the education funding plan, Nikki Haley made waves on social networks.

Only these probably weren't the waves that she wanted to make.

Haley took to social media on Monday afternoon to share the news with followers. What seemed to be a cross-post from Instagram to Twitter turned heads and became a shared link across the Internet.

The post on Twitter read:

"South Carolina made history this year by passing education reform. We will no longer educate children..."

The post on Twitter included the link to the Instagram post.

The comment reads in full as follows:

"South Carolina made history this year by passing education reform. We will no longer educate children based on where they are born. Through reading coaches, technology investments, and expanding charter schools we just confirmed that we want our children to be the future workforce for our growing high tech jobs! #ItIsAGreatDayInSC"

The post was interrupted on Twitter to show the link of the photo that was posted on Instagram. However, the point where the post stops was one that caught attention. The Twitter post was later deleted.
