HONOLULU (AP) - An ironworkers union is endorsing Gov. Neil Abercrombie in his bid for re-election as Hawaii governor.
Ironworkers Union Local 625 and Ironworkers Stabilization Fund announced their support Thursday. They represent about 2,000 workers throughout the islands.
The union leaders say Abercrombie invested nearly $3.5 billion to upgrade aging infrastructure across the state. Upgrades were made to schools, airports and highways.
They say through those projects Abercrombie added jobs, reduced unemployment and bolstered the economy.
