The Punahou alum is at the top of the leaderboard after round one of the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic.
The 24-year-old shot a solid 65 with seven birdies and only one bogey to finish the round at six under par.
She is currently tied for the lead with South Korea's Hee Young Park.
Round two tees off Friday morning at 6:30 on the Golf Channel.
