H-1 motorists warned of uneven roadway due to rehab project

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Hawaii Department of Transportation is notifying Oahu motorists of full lane closures Wednesday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.  Due to scheduled final paving work, motorists may also experience uneven road surfaces on the H1 Eastbound from Likelike to the Liliha St. Area.

The affected area is in the left hand lane nearest the median barrier.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT:  *** Full Freeway closures – Eastbound continue tonight at 8:00 pm ***

Lane closures:  Beginning from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

 Eastbound – ALL lanes will be closed from the Likelike Hwy off-ramp to the Vineyard on-ramp eastbound beginning at 8:00 pm.

 From the airport viaduct:  The Middle St tunnel will be CLOSED. Use alternate routes: Dillingham Blvd or Nimitz Hwy.

 Westbound – 2 right lanes will be closed, westbound starting at 9:00 p.m. The left lane will be open for traffic.

Ramp closures:

 Eastbound:  The Kalihi St (mauka and makai) on-ramps, and the Liliha St  on-ramp and the Pali on-ramp will be closed from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

 From the airport viaduct: The Middle St tunnel will be CLOSED.

The Vineyard on-ramp will be OPEN.

Westbound: The Pali off-ramp and the School St on AND off-ramps will be closed in the westbound direction from 9:00 pm.

All lanes and ramps will re-open by 5:00 a.m.

These lane closures occur from Sunday evening to Friday morning. There are no lane closures Friday night, Saturday morning or night, or Sunday morning.
