Flood Warning issued for Kauai until 1:45 p.m.

LIHUE, KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) - *** The Flood Warning has been canceled.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Kauai until 1:45 pm. 

At 10:36 am, radar showed an area of persistent Heavy rains along the windward coast of Kauai, from near Lihue to Anahola. The area of heavy rain was nearly stationary. Several rain gauges in this area have recently reported rainfall rates in excess of two inches per hour, and a spotter in Wailua Homestead recently reported a rainfall rate of over three inches per hour. The primary threat is for road and urban flooding.

Other locations in the warning include but are not limited to Moloaa, Kilauea and Kapaa. This Flash Flood Warning replaces the Flood Advisory that was in effect for the island of Kauai in Kauai County. This warning may need to be extended beyond 1:45 pm if Flash Flooding persists.
