DURHAM, N.C. -

Police in Durham are investigating a homicide after a body was found inside a car that had crashed into a home Sunday on Holloway Street.

A Durham police spokesman said a vehicle crashed into a home at 2717 Hwy 98 (Holloway Road) around 4:24 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found Juan Carlos Ruiz, 27, of Durham, dead inside the car with a single gunshot wound to the torso. Three additional men, who were passengers inside the car, were transported with injuries.

Police say a preliminary investigation appears to show gunshots were fired from another moving vehicle. Police do not believe the shooting was random.

Police said they do not have a suspect or a vehicle description at this time.

No one was in the home at the time of the crash.
