Squire throws complete game gem in Hawaii's win over UC-Riverside

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Heading into Thursday night, the Rainbow Warrior baseball team had only won four of 21 conference games and not a single victory came at home, but the 'Bows reversed their fortunes as Hawaii defeated UC-Riverside, 5-1, at Les Murakami Stadium.

In what is his last start in a UH uniform, senior pitcher Scott Squire struck out nine batters and allowed only one run in a complete game effort.

With the win, Hawaii improves to 21-30 on the year and 5-17 in the Big West.

Game two of the series is set for Friday night.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
