Music for Life Foundation Coordinates Musical Instrument Donation Drive

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Education of the arts is an integral part of any school program, but some schools cannot afford to buy the instruments the students need.

Music for Life Foundation is hosting a musical instrument donation drive that starts Thursday, May 22nd and continues through Saturday, May 24th. Anyone can stop by at various Oahu high schools for donation and collection activity.

This event is a major campaign in providing donated instruments to under served local schools and less fortunate students, and it also highlights Music for Life Foundation's mission in bringing awareness to the need and importance of keeping the study and interest of music alive in school curriculum.

On Saturday, May 24th, musical instrument donations will be held at three locations, Harry's Music Store in Kaimuki, The Hard Rock Cafe in Waikiki, and the Music for Life Foundation information booth at the Pearlridge Farmers' Market in the Pearlridge parking lot.

Jennifer Robbins spoke with Music for Life Foundation board member Angela Byrd at the Kalaukaua Middle School and got a preview of the students showing off their musical talent.
