A 45-foot sailboat is grounded off Kailua-Kona. It struck the reef around 7 a.m. Monday with two people, a man and a woman, on board.
When rescue crews arrived, they found both boaters had jumped in the water and swam to shore. No one was hurt.
Fire officials, police officers and the Coast Guard were all notified. Efforts to recover the boat are underway.
