St. Louis wins first state baseball title in four decades

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - It's been 40 years since the Saint Louis Crusaders won the Division I title in baseball and all the team needed was five innings to end the drought.

The Crusaders defeated the Mililani Trojans, 10-0, in a mercy-rule shortened five-inning game for the team's first championship since 1974.

The Saints scored four and five runs in the first and fifth innings, respectively, and Pono Anderson allowed only two hits through five scoreless frames.

St. Louis also defeated Roosevelt, Waiakea, and Campbell en route to the title.
