BWS crews repair 16-inch water main break on N. School Street

BWS crews finished repairs to the 16-inch water main break on North School St. Saturday morning. According to a BWS official, water was restored  to customers around 7:30 a.m. All roads are now reopened.

Board of Water Supply crews are working to repair a broken 16-inch water main on North School St. between Kamehameha IV Road and Ahonui St. in Kalihi.

26 homes and businesses are without water.

Water wagons have been providing water to those affected. East bound lanes remain closed and west bound traffic on N. School St. is being contraflowed at Kam IV and Ahonui while work is expected to continue through the night.

The leak was initially reported at 1:55 a.m.

The broken 16-inch main was installed in 1927.
