(Hawaii News Now) - The Hawaii Theatre Center and the Honolulu Council of the Navy League celebrate Military Appreciation Month in May by presenting Honolulu's largest military appreciation event, the 29th Annual Combined Military Concert at the historic Hawaii Theatre on May 17, 2014 at 6:00 PM. An invitation-only pre-show reception will be sponsored by the Honolulu Council of the Navy League, a title sponsor of the concert.
This year the United States Air Force is the military lead band and will be conducted by Capt. Haley Armstrong, U.S. Air Force Band of the Pacific. The combined band features outstanding services members from each branch of the military, with respective conductors taking up the baton in a selection of patriotic songs. This special concert will feature performances by the U.S. Navy Pacific Fleet Band, the U.S. Marine Forces Pacific Band, the U.S. Army 25th Infantry Division Band and members from the Hawaiʻi Air National Guard 11th Army Band.
Tickets are available from the Hawaii Theatre box office, local MWR centers, and the Honolulu Council of the Navy League. The event is free to the public. Public, general admission seating for ticket holders will begin at 5:30 PM. Those without tickets will be admitted at 5:50 PM, depending on available seating.
